Description: Gatecreeper have revealed the upcoming release of their new album Dark Superstition, slated to come out on May 17, 2024. They have also unveiled a new single and accompanying video for the track The Black Curtain, directed by Max Moore. Exploring themes of the supernatural, divination, and the fear of the unknown, Dark Superstition discusses the intricacies of trusting in magic or chance. The Black Curtain, serving as the album's lead single, embraces a rock-centric approach, encapsulating the essence of the album's theme.
“Many of the songs incorporate supernatural ideas with my own experiences,” vocalist Chase H. Mason says. “But the title itself is a reference to the Superstition Mountains in our home state of Arizona. It’s a beautiful mountain range surrounded by tragedy and legends of hidden fortune.”
“It’s about being trapped between living and dying,” Mason says on The Black Curtain. “A soul trapped in purgatory begging to be brought back by a supernatural force.”
