It's a remarkable record which engages from top to bottom, with lengthier tracks interspersed with stunning 10-second bursts of pure brutal grind. Closing number, Glass Shards, combines all of the band's strengths, and effortlessly expands into black metal, post hardcore, and post rock territories, aided by gorgeous, expressive string arrangements. Evidently, Hiss is a distinct piece of work which brings Wormrot's path to an imposing conclusion.
